Pond of Gold
Acrylic on canvas 20" x 28".
Behind the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Ontario there was a swampy pond. One September morning about 10.30 in the morning the sun was still low shining across the murky pond while the trees in the background cast blue shadows. The bare dead trees made this almost abstract configuration and the reeds in the background waved white in the breeze. On the other side is a stand of trees where deer hoof prints could be seen in the soft soil.
