Commission Questions:
Commissioned Pet Portraits:
How long will it take?
After the sketch is approved, it usually takes two weeks to complete the painting at which time I present you with a jpeg image to you for your approval.
What is the process?
I begin by having a conversation about your pet and asking you to send me 4 photos so that I can determine the best pose, lighting, and background that will most show it’s personality, and best features. It is important for me to hear your pet’s story, because sometimes I can incorporate some aspect into the painting.
I love cats and dogs, babysitting 4 neighbors pets as well we had a family cat as a youngster. I love horses and I once attended a horse camp for a week one summer.
How much does it cost?
The size of the canvas, and number of pets, texture of fur, detail of the painting are important factors impacting on the price and time frame to complete the project. I will do a sketch based on the photos and our conversation, and if it meets your approval, I will ask for a 50 percent deposit. Once the painting is complete, I will send you a jpeg image for your approval. (At this point, up to two edits will be allowed.) After you approve of the painting, the balance will be due.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes, I guarantee 100 percent up to the approval of the painting. If you are not completely satisfied at the time of the final approval, the deposit will be fully refunded, and I retain ownership and rights to the painting.
How long will the painting last?
Your pet portrait is created with the highest quality acrylic paints and canvas, and is very durable, depending on the conditions of your home. Moisture, dryness, heat, cooking with oil frequently are only some of the things that may affect the condition of the art. I spray special varnish on each painting, so that all you need to do is dust with a dry or damp cloth to make it look new.
