It's spring and Toronto, Ontario begins to bloom. The inspiration for this painting came from a walk in Sunnybrook Park, seeing the spring water running over the stones, reflecting in sun and the spring flowers growing throughout the park. This started as a fun painting, covering the background in the red, then putting in the trees and building from there. The clouds carry a hint of pink, and the tree shadows suggest a later time in the day. There is something exciting about trying something new, and here it was the combination of abstract elements with my more familiar impressionist style.
